Life goes on, and it only gets better!

These last two years have been wonderful, and they will continue to get even better.  My life is evolving for the better daily, and with many good friends assisting in my journey, this path to positive living has been kinder on my soul.  You see for the longest time I had been a negative person in certain regards.  Most of my negativity involved health and growing older.  You might think that its funny that I worry about such things, but for me, especially after my car accident in 2000, health had been my main concern until recently. While I am a very healthy person, I still worry about the small things that pass my way, and these worries turned into obsessions until about two years ago when I started turning my life around.

More recently I read a book called “The Secret” which turbocharged my desire to remove all negative thinking from my life and replace it with positive thinking.  You see negative thoughts only produce negative feelings.  These type of thoughts can include worry, worry turns into fear, and fear is crippling.  The Secret, mainly points out that “thoughts become things”.  Meaning that if you think about it enough, it will come true.  If you worry about not having money, the universe will return similar situations where you have a deficiency with money.  The same could be said about health related items.  If you think about having cancer, or worry about getting cancer enough, then the universe may indeed give you cancer.  The book points out that the universe basically has no bias in what it sends to you.  You are what your thoughts are.  If you think about positive situations then you will reap positive situations, if you think about negative situations, then you will reap negative situations.  The universe isn’t cruel, or mean, it just gives you what you think about.

So when thinking about career, personal, or financial… always be imaganitive and think/dream about situations where you have the job you want, or the house, or whatever.  Be creative, be imagantive, and be positive.  Whenever a negative thought comes into view, throw it away without any bias, and replace it with a postive thought.  It takes pratice (god knows I’m a living example of praticing this way of "postive thinking") and dedication, but in time the world will be yours!

I have read the Secret and even have seen the movie. It is so weird to think that we are our thoughts, and that we draw things to us.

I am usually very optimistic, but can be at times, a little negative in the topics similar to what you mentioned, health and growing older. I am working to break those negative thought cycles, it is very hard and time consuming, but I really want to attract the better things in life.

Have you seen “What the %&#@! (bleep) do we know?” It is the movie that came out before The Secret. You should check it out. I have watched it a few times and I always catch something new when I watch it again.

I happy that you are moving along on a better path - may the journey continue to be amazing!

It is often a challenge in itself to realize the negative path in which you were on. Just the realization two years ago was a great thing for you to accomplish. The next challenge becomes changing it, and it is an amazing feeling once you determine you are aware of the problem, you want to fix it, and you actually take the steps to accompolishing your goals!

I am excited for you! It is a wonderful thing to know that YOU create your future, and it can be whatever you choose. Keep the positivity and dont let any obstacle ruin this feeling for you. I went to some motivational seminars a few years back, and it taught me so much, I hold onto those lessons and cherrish them!

Welcome to a much better life! Love ya!

I have heard the phrase ‘magical thinking’ used twice in the past week. I don’t know where this phrase originated — I know it has roots in shamanism, psychology, science…here is the wikipedia entry…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magical_thinking

Both times I heard it used — once in a yoga class, once at at academic seminar — it was used in a derogatory way. The problem, ya see, is not with the magical…it’s with the thinking. Thinking and not acting. The insight gained from The Secret, and from every breath we take, if you want to get granular about it, is that everything we can imagine that has the potential to make us happy, can only make us happy if we turn it into action. A dream without action is a sad situation. Your post, Scott, points out beautifully how our state of mind hingest not on how we think about things, but how we act about them. Thanks!

(And because you asked…cool blog BTW…)
