Why writing posts helps your SEO

Oh my goodness guys… let me tell you how I’ve watched my search rankings drop because I didn’t write any new content.

Google is smart, very smart here folks. Based on how often you update your site or write a new post becomes the deciding factor on when a bot visits your website.

For example, I didn’t write a post for roughly 24 days. The bot was used to me updating my site weekly, and thus determined that I stopped writing or changing it, so it changed its habits. Instead of it visiting weekly its now visiting my site monthly checking for new content. This causes your search ratings to fall.

You must keep writing, even if you don’t like writing. If you want your search rankings to improve then you must write and update weekly. If you don’t your site is as good as dead.

I have to compete with so many different Scott Patterson’s out there. One of them happens to be a major television actor, of whom which the 30yo female population are in love with. So I am constantly competing against their fan sites, and other persons named Scott Patterson. Design, Reno, Nevada and other keywords are very difficult to rank with. But perhaps one day with a lot of persistent writing and monthly updates I will get there.
